Panoscope: A Southern Perspective to the XVII International AIDS Conference, Mexico

Panos GAP and its team of Southern journalists are producing a daily conference newspaper – Panoscope. Panoscope provides news, commentary and in-depth features on the debates at the conference. The Panos GAP reporting will focus on how these issues affect the communities hardest hit by HIV/AIDS. Edited and produced by a team of journalists from the global South, Panoscope provides a unique, Southern perspective on the conference. Panoscope will be disseminated each morning to conference delegates and be live on the Panos website online.

Meet the Panoscope Team

Phyllis KachereThe Panoscope team comprises of dedicated senior health journalists, some of whom have been reporting on HIV and AIDS for more than 10 years. Majority of the team members work in mainstream media in countries most affected by AIDS. This team will be in constant touch with technical experts, programme implementers and community activists (both attending and not attending the conference) to bring you a constant stream of fresh, original content with a unique Southern angle. Click here to meet the team.

The Panoscope team writes for 2010 Features

2010 Features, part of Panos' international Global AIDS Programme, is a monthly global news and features service with an exclusive focus on HIV and AIDS, and TB. It monitors the progress that governments make (or do not) in achieving agreed Universal Access targets for the year 2010. Rather than look at HIV and AIDS, and TB, exclusively as health stories, 2010 aims to cover the whole gamut of cross-cutting development issues presented by them, including gender, prevention and care, treatment, business and economy, children, youth, culture and sport, food security and conflict. At the XVII International AIDS Conference in Mexico City, we are happy to have the dedicated Panoscope team of senior media professionals writing for 2010 Features.
