| In collaboration with the media secretariat of the XV ICASA, Panos GAP organised daily media briefings on selected topics for all journalists attending the conference from 4-7 December 2008. In this hour-long media training activity, Panos facilitated a brief but comprehensive analysis from different perspectives on AIDS related issues. The topics selected for media briefings during ICASA were: TB, prevention, MSM, and orphans and vulnerable children. During each briefing, a panel of experts -- policy makers, programme implementers and grassroots activists -- l presented their views to journalists for half an hour. | Panos and the Stop TB Partnership are launching fellowships for print and broadcast journalists to raise local debate and understanding of TB and, in particular, its link with HIV/AIDS. The fellowships will be awarded to local journalists in Bangladesh, Botswana, Ethiopia, Haiti, India, Kenya, Lesotho, Pakistan, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe. ...More» |
